There is a growing consensus that innovation policies should be geared towards addressing societal challenges

The open innovation actions planned by the Region of Central Macedonia aim to highlight the dynamics of the region’s innovation ecosystem and to strengthen partnerships between businesses, institutions and researchers to find business solutions with social impact.

Within the framework of the competition, organisations from various sectors of the economy publish their Challenges, inviting researchers, start-ups and individuals to develop innovative solutions with social and environmental impact.

In this direction, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Mechanism – One Stop Liaison Office of the Region of Central Macedonia, held for the first time in 2024, the first Open Innovation Competition ‘Innovation for Society Awards (IFS Awards by RCM)’.
